Description

G'day. This is a shot of an australian Cassowary form a wildlife park in Victoria, Australia. Cassowarys are very big, like ostriches and are known for occasionally attacking humans in the wild. Even in a wildlife park you need to be careful, hence this funny quick snap as he was trying to peck at my camera. I was too affraid to leave my camera waiting too long. Anyway he has a funny eye. Really weird looking bird and honestly, this is a first glimpse for me at this guy. He's really ugly - if you can call any animal ugly. And yes, Ostriches do attack as well occasionally. I think you did a marvellous job on capturing him, keeping in mind that you had to do a snapshot of him.

Beautiful capture, these are a very powerful & at times cane be very dangerous when spooked or cornered, only ever seen the 1 in the wild & there not so colourful as a captive one. Stuart
