Description

Forgive me, friends, while I rant. :P First let me just say that I'm not entirely thrilled with this image (although the character is gorgeous, imho). I had added a lot more to the scenery and removed the tear, as well as a few other things, when Poser decided to crash on me (what else is new?). When I opened up the pz3 file again, everything was gone! Just an empty scene (not the first time this has happened... probably the 12th or so). So, fast forward to today... I start over again from scratch (totalling 30+ hours or so combined on this same image!) and made an even better version of it that I ~loved~. SAME THING HAPPENS AGAIN! *head, desk* :( Ohhh, I cussed like a drunken sailor at this box in front of me! o.0 So anyway, this is the last render I had of it before losing both of my other versions. Thank you, Poser 6, you hungry hungry pz3 file eating hippo! Can anyone tell me if P7 is less buggy than P6 is? I've had hell with this version since I installed it... even after a HUGE upgrade to my computer last month. Should I start saving up for P7 now, or just go back to using Pro Pack, or what? Opinions? Thoughts? Valium? hehe *sigh* :( [/end rant] Sorry... just frustrated. :/

I have both, but right now my comfort zone is P6, but every now and then...P6 can't render a scene, so I always save before I begin to render...then if P6 won't do it, I open in P7...and it works! Eventually I'll start using P7 exclusively but the horror of P5 (at least for me) still lingers.

Excellent job brandi!! So sorry about the crash...I too lost a few to Poser 6. So far I'm loving Poser 7, I love that it uses the second core in a dual core processor! I have crashed it once, the image was just too large and shadow intensive for my memory (which needs to be added to) but I'm liking it so far. But this image of yours is great!

Adorable image..love it. P7 rocks, I love the render in it soo much better, had a problem with saving pz3s at first but found out cant save pmd? files, so just unchecked that option and no problems since. Havent crashed it yet, but then again I am not as talented as most here and dont have the detail in my renders yet. Fantastic image.

Don't change this Brandi, that is my opinion. Makes me want to do the whole "cradle her head in my hands and give her a feel better kiss on the forehead." And how the heck have you been? Long time no see. -Rob

I think this render is beautiful! Eventhough gothicy!! LOL I feel your pain, Poser6 is hell in a hand basket! I only use it when I have to, I seem to get Daz to work alot better.. Scared to spend that kind of money on Poser 7, cause I feel it will do the same as Poser 6. I don't need all those headaches!!

A very beautiful image in all respects, sorry for your troubles,So Far I really like Poser 7,no major problems, although I have never had any of my images take that long to render either,I just render my main Image and build backgrounds in photoshop......

What a little touching darling... what happens?!? Nice artwork. Bravo!! P.S. although I'm not a serious user of Poser (I work with it only to study characters and/or experimenting for final handmade paint works) I think Poser 6 is still little bit better than the new P7 (low resource and memory required) but some friend tell me P7 has a better render. Mah, for many works I use DAZ Studio (really low resources required and faster rendering) but for serious and complex scene I render in Bryce. At the end I've not a definitive idea. It's depending by your personal use and enjoy.

i love this cute little character and she looks beautiful here! As for P6, keep saving your work every 5 minutes and if that doesn't help, i'd go for the Valium option!

I am sorry to hear that you had so much trouble doing your render, Brandi :( Poser6 has done the same to me so many times in short time..so I prefer to use my poser5 ;) (still don't have poser7) Anyway, your image of sweet gothica turned out soo nice. I love that sad expression in her face, and that tear..it looks wonderful, a gorgeous detail. The jewels you have used on her is wonderful to this plain and wonderful portait :) Thank you so much for using our Sweet Gothica in your wonderful work :)

IMHO P7 has a far better memory management and so I was able to dig out many scenes that crashed in P5 and P6 and render them flawless or at least in two area renders in P7 (just with Firefly - I have no experience with the P4 renderer in P7). However - I'm glad you where able to keep this version, what an adorable (and sad) little doll. Very impressing!

Rant away. I soooooo hate when that happens in any program. And it seems to always happen when you get right into it and you're on a creative roll, so much into it that you forget to save, or you thought you saved when you didn't. Drives me crazy!!!! Wonderful image nonetheless. :)
