Hey! It's not geeky at all! I think it's a great idea...shows you have a real artist's soul and you were inspired by her. Inspiration is one of the first steps towards true love. As far as the choices, definitly the bottom one. Far better lighting and color. Also, the tighter shot seems more up close and personal. Maybe a bit of Depth of Field? I'd tone down the shadows though, they look way to solid-edged. Change the shadows from that hard Ray-Traced look to an Area shadow or a Soft shadow. But the colors look amazing~! This is a great idea. (any meathead can go spend $40 on roses......even if it doesn't work out, she won't forget you cause out of all the flowers she might get, you gave her something that she inspired in you!!!) ;) Best of luck!!! :D 5 *'s !!! -chachi

I agree. The second one does seem better. DOF might help. Turn on TIR (if you haven't already). But if you're not able to re-render, no biggie. Both images are nice, but yeah... the second one's the way to go.

The second one looks better to me.

maybe the light is better on the second one, but I prefer the first one

WOW !! I love this image !! What striking contrast !!~PERFECT~!!

I prefer the first one, too. I think it's the negative space... makes it look more 'structured' and less cluttered. :) Good luck!

Cool idea i prefer the first but the second is cool to!!!!!!!

Well durg, so it's a tie, three for the first, three for the second, uugh. SEE, this is the problem with us Libras, give us a choice between two things and we could spend forever on deciding...Thank you for the comments about the depth of field, not sure what 'TIR' is though, hmmm. I'm going to tweak each and rerender, see how they come out, I've got 'til tomorrow!

its got to be the first one for me! the isolation of the blue sphere is enhanced, giving a more emotional depth i feel. geeky artistic version of giving flowers indeed....brilliant!!
wawadave
like the second one my self. but don,t give up on giveing flowers!! trust me!

Wow! They are both outstanding. What a choice. From the female side, the top one is lighter, airier... kind of ethereal. The bottom on is more solid and robust. I like both equally. Go with your gut. If can't decide, let her choose. Now is that wicked, or what? Bunny

Aaahh, that is so sweet! I'd go for the first one myself - the composition is better, it has more form and is brighter. It is lovely! Looks more like a wonderful abstract piece. Whatever you do - good luck!:)
marybelgium
the first one... lovely idea !
Death_at_Midnight
I like these reflections and gleams of light. I'll pick the first one.

Firstly congrats on a new potentially brilliant relationship. 2nd - great idea and thought. Way better than flowers. Flowers die anyway. Choice: the top, lighter render. It is way lighter and softer. The blue really stands out which I assume is your new interest. The bottom one is very heavy. Good luck!!!
FunkyShaman
Yup, thanks aliensprog, I went with the top one, and yeah, the blue is supposed to represent her.
