Description
Modeled in Rhino, this rapier is done entirely with geometry. All those holes really are booleaned out of the guard. I was amazed Rhino allowed me to do over 450 booleaned holes in a single operation (yes it took a couple of hours for the calculation, but it didn't crash!).
There is another version of the same model but rendered in 3D Studio Max (r3) in this gallery.

You see a lot of "Charity 10s" because nobody wants to hurt anyone's feelings. I cannot fault the kindness that has led to this devaluation of a perfect 10, but this model and render by Axe is a true 10. You just don't get better than this. If you adjust for the general devaluation of a 10 rating, then this would have to be about a 30.

Thanks! (blush) I'm truely flattered!

wow that is really a sharp render (no pun intended)

Beautiful Pappenhiem!!! I am not much for the modern voiding in the fullers, but I would be proud to own such a blade.

Thanks again! The piercework in the fuller is based on an actual blade (Saxon royal rapier, signed Israel Scheuch) dated 1606, and presently residing in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. Wouldn't be so great for actual combat since it seriously weakens the blade, but sure looks pretty!
