obedience
is not enough
for our fathers
we have to learn
to die
mother
doesn't count
the cold son
but what could
become
while she's
defenceless
a part
of the weaker
sex
occupied
until
rape is the rule
tenderness
mutilated
utopia
in such a system
nobody comes
and we climb
this plain
never reaching
the top
meanwhile
on a high platform
leaders proclaim
their devious plans
while
behind barbed wire
we shoot
the picture
of the year

"for what it's worth" Any anti-war poem is worthwhile, particularly as well-crafted as this one. The only word which didn't seem [imho] to sit easily in the poem was 'dodgy' since it seemed at variance with the considered solemnity of the rest of the poem. This isn't a criticism, simply a matter of personal taste. I concur completely with the sentiments [so well] expressed. Mike

Thanks for pointing that out, Mike. Changed it to "devious", it looks and reads much better now, I think.
