well, I made it back in one piece and seen a lot of new places.drove on ice covered 8-10" snow for nearly 200 miles and there were so many wrecks along the way. snow is one thing but with 2" thick ice on the highway and no snow plows running in Texas it gets really hairy.at least New Mexico had the plows out in force
thanks for viewing and comment

The picture doesn't look treacherous...but ice is often not seen! I am very glad you made it ok. I have driven like that and threw a chain half the way home..others on the sides of the roads. Nice shot..means something to those who have been there! Here in TN we have less ice than TX..surprising but the facts of it. Thanks for this photo.

What a splendid snow vista, a real feast to the eyes from the familiar vantage point of the road. It creates a fell of safety despite your observations. Welcome home.

I know all to well how the travel is. We didn't have ANY snow up our way. Just 4 inches of ice! And our city could really learn a thing or two from N.M. about plowing. They wanted to wait until it had fallen. Said there was no use to plowing just for the ice to fall where they had all ready been. Glad you had a safe trip. Excellent picture. Great point of view. and look......CLEAR ROADS!!!!! LOL!!

driving on ice is so scarey, even with chains it's so easy to loose control- glad you had no mishaps and made it back sefely

Just walk it through. Never turn a wheel. Second gear idle with a gentle lope. The burnout folks are in the ditch. Ewtaw! Someone's been marking your cards.
