Description

G'day. This is a big Huntsman spider from Australia. This is the female and she was a whopper (nearly 4 inches accross from end of each leg)!! They generally live solitary lives and always come into our house when its about to rain. They eat their husbands!! Enjoy (assuming youre ok with spiders) Lou

I don't even want to think of a 4 inch spider. Let alone the husband eating thing. This is a great photo, but too close for me

It's nice to see a lovely lady well photographed. For the record to those view and reading. The Huntsman spider is also amazingly soft to the touch and nowhere near as dangerous as she looks. Indeed her most fear enemy, which hunts them down with some viciousness, is the common household Dandy-long-legs. Great pic. Pagrin :-)

They eat their husbands? Is this a family program? LOL Excellent detail and a beautiful lady indeed. I will have to check, I am curious to see if they are related to our rains spider.

Wow! What an awesome shot! Neat spider... I'm totally afraid of spiders, but I love to take pictures of them (or see pictures others have taken). As long as they don't get near or on me, I'm ok. I couldn't imaging having one the size of this guy come into my house! Even so, great capture! :^)
