Description
Hi All
Firstly many many thanks for the previous comments and crits also let me apologise for not being around, especially commenting and chatting, I'm exceptionaly really really really busy and still am, I'll get round to catching up when the project I'm doing is over.
Anyway I hope you like this, always wanted to do a picture from Aliens and as far as I'm concerned it's the nastiest and most wonderful alien on the big screen and Predator as well and a nice step on from my previous submission.
The awsome Alien Drone by Antares (Franz Muenz), Alien Space Jockey by Sean P. Kennedy and the Heavy cable By Stefan Morrell(Stonemason). Once again many thanks for your generosity and superb skills.
Have a good-un and thank you very much for the comments and crits if you care to leave one.
Chris

Absolutely gorgeous! The DOF is life like and the light just bowls me over. Kudos, my friend, even though I'm not to keen to meet your friends, there.

A very worthy Alien tribute

Excellent image!! Could you bring the whole space jockey model into Vue? My Vue 5 crashed when I tried it, so I had to use POV-Ray instead. If you rendered that in one piece, Vue 6 must have much better memory management than Vue 5. Finally, I would say ...

Very, very impressive. Lighting is magnificent, and the unfocused background is appropriately spooky. There's some pixelation around the alien though that reveals postprocessing DOF. You might want to try rendering twice as large, which will give you extra pixels to help smudge or blur the jagged edges. Then you can reduce the size, and it will look seamless. I find this is always faster than rendering an "honest" depth of field. Other than that, this looks like a cinema still straight from the set. I give it 5+. Good show!
