Description
The "Temple of the Moon" was built some 36,000 years ago as a lunar calendar. The path of the moon "Amalure", unlike the reliably annual tracks of it's sister sun "Khepri", only returns to the same point once every 187.6 years. The Temple Priests plot this slow progress, building to a crescendo in the one hundred and ninety third year of the "Lunar Standstill" - when the path of "Amalure" is so low that it seems to walk along the horizon before setting within the sacred circle.
The starfield was created with Glitterato. "Amalure" was created with Lunar Cell. The "Moon Temple" is a fractal overlay created in Apophysis 2.05 Beta Z plus. "Temple Priest" was modeled in Poser 5. Final scene was rendered in Vue 4.
