This thing flies great! In the scene where it's over the lake could you have its wake kick up waves in the water (or otherwise interact with its surroundings a bit)?

@hartcons: this is just a preview. all the surroundings are panorama pictures. by the time i fixed the location for the airshow (i have to produce a realy large pano), i will add shaddows. to interact with 'frozen' waves of an image could be difficult.

@miketche: this is part of the concept. funjet got an intelligent boardcomputer that flies by itself .. no pilot licence is nessesary! rent and fly ;)

Fantastic modeling and rendering. How did you lit the scene? :))

@strata: the lightset is realy simple ... one paralell light (sun), one low light from the ground and a 30% environment light. the rest of the yellow surface is brightened by 20% reflection of the surrounding.

That looks really cool. How are the panaramas applied? Do you have them on flat planes or wrapped on a cylinder? Untill I read you comment above I thought it was footage which you had comped over. Great stuff. :)
