Description

on january 20 i started on my 'little shop around the corner', never knowing where it would end. first came suzanne asking for a studio in the attic, then came titta with her coffee/chocolate/book shop. from there it started growing, there was to be a second building, providing for titta's needs, a place for gun and suzanne in the attic. as in time everything seemed to become overcrowded and interst did grow i had to take the warehouse next door as housing of interested people was not otherwise possible. even more so because jan wanted a print shop, which asks for a very sturdy building. a gallery was one of the wishes to keep everything in the comunity. well it worked out well. even martin's barn and gun's bubblebath were possible and the warehouse attic became a place for meditation, lessons, dancing and whatever comes up. even martin's last minute's request for a piece of grass with a fence so that the dogs could freely play has been realized. sadly i could not make the barn bigger, so when he wants to sleep there now and then it will be cramped and he has to take jan's sleeping bag. small street furniture was added, laterns, benches, even a clock to keep track of the time and a telephone booth, i don't know why anyone would use this but i felt it kind of belonged there. forgive me for putting my head carved out of stone in the village pump (but you insisted it should stay there), but i put a beautiful cocoa poster for great dutch cocoa on the wall at titta's - no, it's not mucha, but a belgian artist who made these kind of posters even before mucha did, it's privat livemont for anyone who is as interested in posters as i am. the elevator shaft is not an ideal attribute, but it had to be put up for titta who has trouble walking. to ease the pain of this eyesore i put one of my modern stained glass windows in it, which will be illuminated at night. together with the balconies it is, i think, after all not too bad. i tried to help everyone who actually helped me to master a prog which i hardly used and which proved to have much more possibilities than i thought in the beginning and i hope you liked this project as much as i did. many thanks to my friend in the 2d graphics forum for their ideas. i will post images from all angles the coming days. completely made from scratch in sketchup.

Koosie, you did a fantastic job on this. There is a quaint, as in old world, appearance and atmosphere in this "small town". It is a testament to you skills that you were able to make additions and modification as the requests were proposed. I would truly love to live and paint in this small town or village, especially sharing it with all my wonderful friends in 2D Forum. Thank you so much, Koosie, for this wonderful vision with all the creative details. Hugs, x:)

A fantastic, and I think, not so easy job, both to handle the program, and listen to all our wild wishes. It really has been wonderful, and you have shown a great talent, I really admire your job. A place for everyone.

Here it is now, in all its beauty! A place for art and friendship, and nice life. You did such great job, both in drawing and mentally; your ideas are so fantastic, and you execute them so well. Your heart and mind, your artistic sight and ability to draw, and visualise - they're all walking here hand in hand; and also hand in hand with all of us. Thank you so much, Koosie! Brlliant work.
