I was born in Zimbabwe on 03/06/88. My family, consisting of parents, older brother and sister, migrated to South Africa when I was six months old. We moved back to Zimbabwe six years later, to help my grandparents on their farm - a career change for my father.
After a measly eighteen months we upped sticks and went farming on our own. This led us to Kwekwe, in the heart of Zimbabwe, to farm tobacco! Borrowdale farm which is part of the "Midlands Black Rhino Conservancy" is where we settled . This was the most incredible experience, living with such an abundance of wild life ........... of which we became a part of during the school holidays! Due to the "land redistribution policy" we had no option but to move on.
10th November, 2001 saw us arrive in New Zealand with our former lives packed into a suitcase each, ready to start our new lives. Our first three years were spent on the South Island and I nearly froze!!!!!!! A great employment opportunity for my father had us move up to the North Island. I now live on a farm just outside Matamata aka "Hobbiton" (defrosting).
Yep that should sum it up ha!

It's not overdone at all, your postwork gives it a special mood! I love it, and therefore I will put it in my basket! Thx Kai for this masterpiece!

horizon is tilted ;P But yeah i like the postwork here, the place looks familiar too :) Nice clouds how they are all on the left where most of the detail is and then just the foam of the waves on the right. Hope all is well in kiwiland i know i havent been around for a bit, will have to catch up at some point :)

I don't find it overdone...though it maybe gets a tad too dark at the right...but that doesn't take away from this being an amazing shot. It makes me want to go there, throw off my shoes, and run along the surf.

marvelous view and photo!

It is very nice, Kai. I can see the right side is darker than the left, but I think it emphasizes the walk down the beach. The clouds, the water's edge and the white waves all point the way! :0)

I like the composition and the person walking along the waters' edge. It gives it an extra dimension. Jenny

You have definitely created a style for yourself. Kai....this is really exceptional. The woman walking so far in the distance makes it. Well so do the waves, and POV. Fav!!! Definitely not overdone.

Quite visually poetic. Effective use of dark gradient; ratchets up the drama.

Beautiful capture of this lovely place, Bravo!

Absolutely purrrrfect! Your postwork makes it look as if there's a storm brewing out at sea. Well done!

I really like your compo, but I think it is over processed. The colours are lovely but a bit heavy for me. I think it would've worked wonderfully in B&W and even with a touch of infrared. Otherwise I like the scene.

Kai, I think this shot is perfect in every way. Sublime work, beautiful spot. Hugs. Di.

I am not religious but it reminds me of the person down on his luck and complains that god let him down because he only saw one track of foot prints, not realizing it was from god carrying him. outstanding capture and post work
