This one was one of many birds on the beach here in Akranes the were eating something or some, cause they where just runing around me :o)

I don't know exactly what it is - Virginia or Clapper Rail, if I had to guess. Nice capture, just a tad dark in the head area - but with the distance of a 300 mm setting hard to manage anyway. The rest is super! Bravo!

Fine! Althought the sandpipers are common in european coast, it's not easy to shot the Purple Sandpiper (Calidris maritima). It is so wild except when it is hungry ;-)

i did wonder if it might be a Purple Sandpiper, but i have never seen one with such bright and orangey legs and beak. however, i think mhyrdin must be correct.

I think this is a Tringa totanus, if Im not mistaken. I'm no expert, but I think it is. Pretty common here in Iceland.
