Description

The St. Paul Winter Carnival is the nation's oldest and largest winter festival. Events include parades, cultural celebrations, ice and snow sculptures and a giant snow slide. Tempatures were warmer last weekend and unfortunately the sculpture of the dragon in the top picture fell apart a few minutes after I took this picture. This is the last weekend for the carnival. With the wind chill our tempatures will feel like -12 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. I'm thinking about risking frost bite and go out and take more pictures! :) Thank you for viewing! Stay warm!

Great Photos, you know what has always amazed me about these sculptures is the fact that all that work goes into something that in time will melt away.

I love the Ice Sculptures at shows like the one you have here!!.. I go to one in Frankenmuth, Michigan every year and find it amazing that something so perfect will be reduced to water... Nice Captures!

Dragons truely are delicate creatures aren't they. I am late so I apologize and hope that you stayed warm on your second trip out. Lastly, I love the pov on the arches, while I can not tell what is on the end of the first and last the detail of the snow flakes on each is quite impressive!

You got there just in time! We came the next day and this was in ruins! And there was not much else to look at. Your series here is very nice.
