Description

Hello all! Here is Lake Elizabeth or Lake eLa Laguna Del Diablo, as it was known to the Spanish, was created by seismic activity. IT is 35 surface acers and rests at an elevation of 3,550 feet. Without the intervention of man, the lake would ultimately become a grassy meadow, then fill-in with trees. A portion of the lake is owned by the U.S. Forest Service with the remainder being privately owned. A cave near the Rancho once encompassing the lake, was one of several hideouts used by bandito Tiburcio Vasquez. Lake Elizabeth is a lake located in Los Angeles County, California. Not many know of this lake except for locals as it is a hard drive to get to it -through small winding roads ... It is inside Angeles National Forest located 65 miles noth of LA , west of Palmdale. There is another lake west of it near Lake Elizabeth, Lake Hughes. the two may have a common ancestry because they are so close together. Elizabeth Lake Road is a long road (probably named after the lake) that connects the suburbs of Palmdale, Lake Hughes, and the lake itself. Its a great place to fish as it is stocked heavily with rainbow trout bluegill , bass and catfish . Just NOT the best place to swim . ( One time a few years ago I went skinnydipping here by moonlight with a friend and icthed badly all the way home ..) LOL!! I am drawn to all the many trees knee deep in water here that seem to be wading in the lake here ... ( taken last spring with my 7900 pocket cam). hoping you all have a great day or evening there! Love to you all!! ((( Big hugs ))) ~ kimmers !! :O) ♥

Wow This is an eye catcher for sure sis... It's going to my favs:) Have been told my cancer has spread to my spine and ribs... Had to go to ER Tues my Oncologist didn't come down due to the snow and he called evidently to see if he could prescribe me Morphine for breakthrough pain and he told the girl that took me thinking she was sister I had 3 mos to live..I have been in shock...relatives have been calling...even got a flower arrangement...I never get flowers that was a surprise indeed...but I am not giving up going to fight this with all my might and try to get in Tues to see my Oncologist to get my meds refilled and ask if the ER Dr did call and he did indeed say that... Plz keep me in your thoughts and prayers.... This is beautiful Hugs Susan~

I can picture a picnic lunch, lying beneath the bows of those massive limbs, drinking in the quiet, the dancing sparkles of sunlight and spending the afternoon with my love! Excellent photo!

Kimmers, the quality of your photographic technique is fantastic. However, there is another element a great photographer need in their work...the ability to see the unique, the dramatic, the heartfelt scenes. You are a master of that extra quality in your photographic art. Hugs, x:)

An extraordinary photograph of a lake, surrounded of its tortured trees, plunging in oblique in its agitated water. An undertow dsinant the bank. Foliages brightening the panorama. This outline between trunks and water which gives impressions of wild nature, depth, and inquisitive eyes. Excellent setting in scene by framing and lighting. Thank you Kimarie for this small chief of work, very representative of your talent. Like one says in France thank you to be 'wet' to carry out this splendid stereotype.

What a great use of the trees for frames. The water is in perfect form to compliment this photo. It is tilted a bit to the right on horizon, but the angle of wave compensates for it.I also really like the light outside of the trees. This is one cool shot Kimarie!!!
