Description

It seems that no-one was fooled that my last post was a genuine Victorian Photo! I thought that I would share the original render for this as it has a different quality from the final version, and you can admire the terrific lace textures by RenaPD! Rendered in Vue using Global Illumination, I think this is basically a similar technique to IBL but using the Vue sky instead of a background image - someone correct me if I'm wrong on this! However it's done, it produces superb soft shadows and a very natural light, and takes just as long to render! Anyway, thanks for having a look and any feedback is most appreciated! Phil

Very beautiful indeed. IBL versus Sky Lighting isn't the key factor - as you point out Vue's superb Global Illumination lighting is what sets it apart from many other programs.

I agree with dburdick, the GI that for instance Poser 7 produces is far, far inferior to the superb Vue render engine. IMO the best GI renders come from Vue. Very nice image this is, though I'm not a big fan of the hair. It's rather low quality (hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes here) takes away from the realism in the rest of your render. Great work nonetheless!

I like it even more than the grayscale version. A fabulous portrait! The textures and the lighting are perfect! Vue renders incredibly beautiful! If it weren't so expensive... sigh
