I don't know your settings, but for a day with this light I use 250/sec with something like f8 or 9. You could even boost the speed up to 320 for this still of shot. Being that close the whiter feather details won't blow out with the sun. But I practice with about 5 shots all at different ones to see, then remember the exif data. You got the drip right on. Ducks and geese are great to practice on.

This was at F6.3 1/500th...If I remember correctly, it was on the Canon EOS sports setting..but other shots where manual, not sure on this one, but that is what it shows on the properties of the photo.
