Lovely shot. I have a horrid time with birds. They don't understand the concept of sit still and smile!

OK I have stopped laughing enough to type. LOL. Well you got it, and it was worth it. I spent half a day searching for one of these, and gave up.It was too far away by that time. Sure looks like a flicker too. Hlarious commentary, great photo.

Oh my conversations go a bit more explicit, lol! You captured it very well regarding color and pose, despite the agony and distractions. Just leave your cam home and see how close they come.

Two thumbs up on the story! I wonder how many photographers have been in a similar situation? I have a feeling I have had a couple of them myself. Even if it is a little on the blurry side it is still lovely! Well done and thanks for the laugh!

excellent....well done on getting this shot for all your troubles. i went past one of these little darlings a few weeks back, it was hovering low by the road side, i pulled my car over next to it undone my sun roof and stuck my head out, i was now eye level and about 4-5 feet away from it still hovering, fantastic close up view, but i didnt have my *** camera!!!!!!! i was on an erin for work........

Love this story with this litle Kestral and it was well worth the ant bites [not that I have ever been bitten by an ant] Its a great capture as birds in the wild don't pose very well.
