Description
Hi all,
Here is a few renders of a plane I built a couple of months ago. I came across a tiny three view of this when doing some research on the Schneider Trophy seaplane races of the twenties and thirties. Apparently this was a proposal that never got funded, so it stayed on the drawing board. Its headline features were two massive engines feeding a combining gearbox to power one prop, with retractable floats to cut drag. As regards colours, stripes in national colours on a simple base scheme were quite popular on this type of plane at the time. This was the flag of Germany until 1933, so I thought it would be appropriate. The silver panels in the wings and body are flush radiators to keep drag down. Shame it was never built, it would have been a monster! Any c+cs welcome,
thanks for looking!

Veru interesting and good looking ! I am an old RC modeler and have always been interested in this unique 1931 Dornier project for the Schneider Cup. I figure you have used some 3D CAD to generate the shape from the simple existing 3-view drawings, Is it something that you can share ? I´m a pretty lazy builder of new RC models, but stumbling upon your artistic interpretation of this exciting project has really exited me. My e-mail is lyrsell.owe.lyco@gmail.com
