Description

I have been experimenting with my scanner and have succeeded with increasing the resolution on my photos. The Kingdom of Tonga is an archipelago in the South Pacific near Samoa. This shot was taken on Lifuka in the Ha'apai group back in 1996. Tongans considered their dead as part of the community and sites like this are displayed along the main road through the village. Families regularly maintain these awesome shell sculptures.

It looks like a very appropriate type of decorating style riminding of skeletal bones. Very well captured.
