Description
This view is the CSS Virginia or Merrimack as people still call her. The ships in the background are the remains of the Congress which blew up at midnight and the sunken Cumberland just off of the Newport News Battery. I will post the Monitor when it finishes. This is a re-creation of a watercolor painting I did 8 yrs ago of the 2 ironclads. The painting itself is 2 4foot sections. I have modeled these 2 ironclads but found Faveral's models to be better and since I wanted the image to look really good, I went with the better looking models. I bought Hankster's Civil War ship pack and thats where the other ships are from.
