Description

Tears Bring Strength Went to a funeral To say goodbye Tears flowing freely Down my cheeks Made a few laugh Somehow A pile of cookie crumbs Ended up in my lap What a shock Older woman asking me If I want more Young kid smiling at me Tears became laughter As the cookie crumbs Hit the floor Heard a voice In the background

very nice words! There is not supposed to be saddness when we lose someone but that is just human nature. It is supposed to be a happy occasion, but that is very hard when it is someone you love!

Some 'passings' are best celebrated with gentle humour - I'm sure I would want to be the cause of laughter rather than tears when I go. Sensitively written as befits the subject. Mike

A compassionate poem, filled with love. Humor honors great friendships the best, especially when the friendship is one of unconditional love. Hugs, x:)

Wonderful piece! One of my favorite movies is "Four weddings and a funeral" Your poem reminds me of that movie. There's an amazing scene with a poem by W.H.Auden that bring tears to my eyes everytime I see it.
