Today, February 8th, is the birthday of a sweet and darling friend to us all - Cathy!!!! (GOLDILOCKSUK)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHY!!!!!!!!!!
I hope it's a wonderful day for you!!!!
I wanted to do something really special for Cathy so I sat and pondered a bit. Planning birthday celebrations for girls is a lot harder than for guys. (For the guys all you need is gratuitous nudity and beer - then they are all set!!!) ;-)
But for the ladies - it gets a little harder. So I rubbed a few blond brain cells together and thought things over.
AND - as luck would have it, my mental path led down one of the most incredibly scenic roads on the planet - Highway 1 along the northern California coast - and then to here - the Bixby Bridge.
And a bridge - a beautiful concrete arch soaring ever so gracefully into the sky, spanning and linking two disjoint promontories - is a perfect metaphor for women in general - and for sweet, sweet Cathy is particular.
Friend, confidant, coworker, wife, mother - Cathy wears many hats. Her arms reach out to one and all in a loving embrace without question.
She is the bridge of love that links so many, many people together.
Her bridge of love spans the generations - she is her generation

Very nice landscape photo with a great bridge, I really like how the road curves away in the distance, the rugged terrain tamed by this fine ribbon of concrete and the amazing views one must get when driving along it. Happy Birthday Cathy! Great photo Meredith!
