Anna Nicole Smith, dead at 39...
after a way short life filled with sorrow and torment.
No, we weren't friends, no I didn't know her personally.
But we, the world watched this woman's tragic life play out on the 6 o'clock news, one tormenting story after another.
People laughed at her, called her names, but she put her head up and her shoulders back, and kept doing what she did, and entertained us along her way with her presence and her knack for winding up a headline for whatever she was up to at the time.
Somewhere she's posing for a different camera...
and I wish her well on her new journey.

Dear Ruby, You speak true words - sad words. I too mourn her passing as I have mourned others caught in the mechanizations, that have struggled in the face of grave adversity to keep standing on their feet. The list of those folks is long and filled with tragedy. What a shameful waste. Excellent picture and an excellent tribute. Again - one more "fallen Caryatid." Love ya!!! Meredith
