Description

1stly, sorry about the boring subject matter. I was looking for the "Boring" gallery section but no luck so I posted it here. A test with HDRI. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TIPS ON MAKING .hdr LIGHT PROBES FOR BRYCE WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY SOFTWARE OR PC LAPTOP ETC? I TRIED THE HDR TUT FOR PHOTOSHOP WHICH WOULDN'T LOAD IN BRYCE. EVERYTHING WAS DONE PROPERLY BUT BRYCE DOESN'T ACCEPT THE FILE. NO ERROR JUST DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. PLEASE I NEED TO MAKE PROBES!!!! STRANGELY PROBES ARE BECOMING A PAIN MY......... Enough bollocks from me. I couldn't render this at premium with DOF etc. Just took too long. Wanted a test to see the HDRI result without waiting for 10000 hours. I have a project in the making for the Bryce challenge. I really want to render it premium etc for the contest but I am sure the scene would take weeks to render. No joke!!! Quite complex and since ICM wanted glass, reflections etc it is going to eat my Mac. Thanks Rod!!! LOL.

I like it, does that make me a dullard too? If I remember correctly, HDR shop by Paul Debevec ( http://www.debevec.org/ )- IBL's inventor - can convert different hdr formats. Bryce uses light probe - that's the circular one, Photoshop saves as a Spherical map - the rectangular one. Hope this helps

Boring or not, I think your pic is awesome, I still have not figured out how to do HDRI in Bryce.

I will have to look for you. I think I saw a couple of threads on this over at 3DCommune but I will have to search for them as I didn't bookmark. I am not too interested in the HDRI because it takes too long to render....THAT'S what I find boring, lol. Waiting for the darn thing to finish rendering. I love shiny spheres anyway you deal out so this is cool!

I'm always drawn to shiney spheres....just can't help it! I too have been having trouble with HDRI in Bryce6, keep getting rubbish shadows....I recon I got better results with a light dome/image cheat in Bryce5!!...must keep trying. Anyway....nice test ;o)Tanc
