Description

Hello to all, i know its not a very exciting title but its my first personal image of 2007 and im stuck for a name for this craft. I haven't had much time to model and render at all this year, and the small time i have had i have been working on a game project (i hope to show you images of soon) so this really is my first for 2007, got some serious catching up to do. p.s. if anyone has a cool name for this then please feel free to let me know. anyway hope to see you all again soon.

Very nice looking ship. It has a very utilitarian look to it, like a tow truck or a research vessel. Or something that uses the "more fire power is always better" approach. Is it a submersible? It looks like it has a propeller or screw on the back...

Short, stocky, maneuverable, lots of TEETH.....Reminds me of a pitbull. How about "PB-001"? Excellent modeling & mapwork.

That's a very nice looking ship. Reminds me back to the scifi days of Aliens and such when ships weren't sleek looking, but bulky and utilitarian in appearance which is what I loved.

What is its purpose? then we might have a more fitting name. My guess it is an astroid miner. Maybe the platinum bandit? Cool work.

Very Chris Foss-esque. (Consider it a compliment). From your detailed views, my guess is with the 1-2 man cockpit a very small sublight to minimal FTL vessel. Partial streamlining to some extent visible; One Airlock on dorsal side view shown, my take she's barely about 100 displacement tons (Traveller scale), mayhap 80dtons tops. If its a Fighter craft, with this apparent partial streamling I see (winglets) its short ranged. Possibly a 'Bomber' (e.g., packing missile loads only) If its an FTL vessel, I presume it to have either surveying or scouting for an intent/ purpose. Green and yellow paint scheme lends itself to either a ground based defense platform vessel, or one intended to penetrate atmospheres, and blend in from aerial/ orbital observation. names? Non FTL Fighter: the 'Bumblebee'-class Interceptor Non FTL Mining Surveyor: 'Beso-Beetle' class (after an unusual asteroidal insectoid minor alien non-sentient critter that eats silicates in hard vaccuum) Non FTL- Cargo Shuttle/ Pod mover: Brahma-class Pod ship. FTL Surveyor: Buffalo-class Mining prospector FTL Scout: Bison-class Scout as always, I remain humbly yours, da 'Rotter.

My guess would be that's it's a Tug-Boat. It just hooks up to cargo containers and drags 'em into the loading docks of huge interstellar transports. Kewl name? er....I like Hefrain Rotter's BUFFALO or BISON. The propellor at the back tells of atmospheric flight capablitiy, so it can drag stuff up from the surface of a planet. This makes me think of the elephant, an animal oft used in various places to haul heavy loads. OK, so, Elephant or Pachyderm (It's genus) mutates into perhaps 'Pachy'...packy...or Packer...which brings us to the machine's job as I've described above. It's a PACKER ! Great presentation and Great modeling, whatever you decide to call it! 5

Great design work - inspirational! A very purposeful little ship - I can imagine there would be many hundreds of these working in off-planet ship yards, helping in the construction of much, much larger vessels: transferring material and personnel from once side of the yard to the other! Gotta say that "Bison" is a very fitting name for such a vessel!

very taunt and functional ship design that has a nice Chris-Foss look to it. Looks like a heavy duty repair craft to me.

Looks like a Tri-phibian (Space/Air/Water) Bison-class utility vessel used on water worlds throughout the 3rd imperium, with dual heavy magnetic grapples. At least that is what my Traveller instincts told me. (when you've been playing Traveller longer than most people you meet have been alive, they classify as instincts) Excellent materials & modeling.
