Description
So a funny thing happened the other day. I'm in this smokey little jazz club when in walks this huge robot with a serious look on its face. It scans the bar and then walks over to the piano, where he proceeds to throw the pianst to one side. It sits down, flexes it's cyber knuckles and then begins to play a blues medley. Luckily, I have my camera, so I sneak over and manage to get this shot. I didn't want to use the flash in case I annoyed him and it was a very dark club. But it didn't turn out too bad.
Wings for the hand, which is in my free stuff (carrara only) and the wings also for the piano, which needs a little more work, but I'm pretty happy. Carrara render with just HDRI lighting and photoshop post.
Thanks for looking.

Another lovely robo render. Great! The keyboard seems slightly too reflective... Maybe. Five from me. Oops... Why didn`t you allow for ratings? :0
drawbridgep
People normally always give 5 star ratings, which makes it kinda pointless, so when I remember to, I turn the ratings off. As for being reflective, yeah, I agree with you. But it was a little bit of an artistic licence to get the picture to be a bit more dynamic. Thanks eveyone for the comments.

I like the idea of useing a Hdri map as a lighting sorce usually the problem is finding one that suits the need to the scene this is just right for the image .the reflections shows off the dimm lit room kind of like the feeling of the curtains are drawn or something of that sorts ! Agreed very excellent lighting , i am rather fond of darker scenes .
danamo
Terrific lighting, modeling and POV!

Geezers, didn't take you long to get the hang of Carrara. I like this image because of the hands and the very clever concept. Nicely done in monotones too. You say you used HDRI. Bryce is a dog when rendering with that....is Carrara faster? I also heard that unless you bought the professional versions that it was similar to Bryce. Your opinion?
drawbridgep
Well, I only have the professional version, so can not tell if the non pro version is similar. Knowing Bryce makes the learning curve pretty easy. And as for HDRI, it flies!
