"Dont Make Love At The Garden Gate, Love Is Blind But The Neighbours Ain't." ~ Proverb

I am a bit pressed for time today, so no bloviating, heheheh. I was lucky enough to visit the Morikami gardens with my wife this weekend, and finally took some IR landscape photos with my Olympus and a Hoya R72 filter in the late afternoon sun. The C-8080 is not the best camera for infra red photography as the sensor is shielded by a fairly strong IR filter and it is prone to getting hot spots. However, with a little postwork, the images can sometimes be salvaged on occasion may even look halfway decent. The photos can be a little noisy too, but at web resolution, it takes on the appearance of film grain. Please click "zoom in" to see it full size, if you don't have that set as your preference. Thanks! -----

Looks like the entrance into a land full of fairies... Lovely - even though the "tilting" of the gate makes me want to bend my head to the right to get it straight...

I love infra-red. I can't seem to get the same effect from digital conversion as I did using good old-fashioned infra-red film with a red filter. This is a brilliant example of infa-red. Bravo!!

I really dig the IR FX, makes the scene look like a Winter Wonderland ! sorta like the FX you can get with Tungsten film. ~Cheers~

This effect makes it look like a very old photo, you can almost expect Clark Gable to come around the bend... from an old B&W movie... very cool Kort!!!!

Great IR shot Kort. I'd have to agree about the C-8080 not being the most friendly camera for IR (the C-3030 and C-5050 were better, heck the E-300's IR filter isn't as strong as the 8080's), but you did a fine job compensating with your post work. Excellent as always.

Nice scene. The brushes look good with the extra enhancement on them. I imagine that is the IR.Something I don;t have much knowledge in.
