Description

The temples of Ramses II and Nefertari, the most important monuments of ancient Nubia, were unknown to the West until 1812, when they were discovered by the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. In 1964 an international project was begun to save the temples from inundation by Lake Nasser, the reservoir of the Asw

Hard to believe something so ancient keeps on living in sculptures. Very well captured. It must have been an expreince to stand on that soil.

Excellent capture like the effect of ant sized people at the feet of giants. Brings back memories of my visit in the eighties, you do feel like an ant looking up at those statues!

Unbelieveable that it was built and what it took to build it but more unbelieveable that it was then cut apart and moved. Truly an inspiring photo. Excellent.

I didn't no they had that in Belgium! ;) Great shot. Excellent detail. Too bad you couldn't be there when the light and shadows pull out the statues more. But you did an excellent job with the light in place!
