Description

Usually I don't do much in the way of floral photography as you may have noticed but this is for my wife Sarah. The 17th of February is our first wedding anniversary (the beginning of our twelfth year together) and this is dedicated to her. The generic name of this plant originates from the Greek phalaina, "moth" and opsis, "like", descriptive of the inflorescences of some species, which resemble moths in flight. For this reason, the species are sometimes called Moth orchids. This one has been happily living and flowering on my kitchen window sill for years. Enough, enough!! I won't be able to review until Sunday as we are away but will catch up then. Hope you all have an excellent weekend. Many thanks for viewing and commenting on my previous image.
