Description

this a composite of four fotos.a political statement and or mood.the old cable cars ,I think will be restored maybe as they are in storage along with the wheels.they are from the early 20's and used in Dallas.actually the huge globe(about 6'0" in diameter) is within a block of each other hope you enjoy and thanks for any comments do you not love calling your isp provider when your service is not working and they tell you many solutions can be found online.if I could go online,I would not need to talk with them.I was on hold for 1 hour last night waiting to complain.finally it came back up after 10 pm

Awesome mix of textures, photos, and postwork! Bravo Richard! RE isp provider; It seems to be the direction all businesses are directed. It's obvious their efforts are directed in obtaining customers, promisses that seldom reach the quality and level advertized. The bottom line is they could care less what happens to the difficult/dissatified customer. Let them drop their service, and go somewhere else, they know they will be treated the same with any other competator! :( I guess the question is where does the change begin? I say in the hearts of each of us. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you! Link! We are so LAZY! We are so self absorbed we forget what our actions are doing to one another. On the other hand, it's easy for us to get frustrated and angry with one another than it is to find understanding and forgiveness. I'm not perfect, but I do try and make an effort to lead my life in this direction!

Talk about the Sword of Damocles! Hate to have that ball hanging over my wee head! Great color and balance in this composite of these beat-up items. No clang, clang, clang from these trolleys. And, the wrecking ball resembles a moon of Jupiter or Saturn.

Super post work and combination. I thought the globe was a fractal with all those colours. The poor old cable cars will need a lot of attention but they look kinda cute how they are. Great shots.

Just what are "cable cars"? Trolley-buses, trains or streetcars ("trams" in British English). This one looks like a train to me. When I was in America my former fiancee and I played a little game: Who would spot the most trains (near San Antonio)? She did, of course. I forget how many in two weeks' time, but it must have been nearly half a dozen. We also got to see one streetcar in the city center (for tourists), and an occasional bus. Very nice. (Duh!) While I'm not exactly a green guy, I would like to see more public transport everywhere in the world. Waiting on the platform at the station on my work to work in the morning I'm sure I see dozens of trains before mine pulls in. I go to the station by bus (being in a hurry), and home by tram (for more comfort). Fewer cars on the road would certainly help if we want to stop global warming. Anyway, I love impressionism, and this is a superb composition.

I think it would help people tremendously, if there was another mode of transport, besides a taxi in Dallas, Richard. I'd love to see these cars restored and fully operational. I'd love to see the originals. This is lovely work Sir! Steve :o)

Dear Richard, Im sorry Im so late getting by - things are still hectic on vacation! Today I relocated to the new flight center for the Cessna Citation X training. Cant wait to meet the 600 mile per hour biz rocket this morning!!! And I moved into my new hotel, that is - moved in Meredith, 113 pounds - moved in luggage, 50 pounds estimated - moved in flight manuals, 200 pounds estimated - but something was still missing for that home sweet home feeling. Went to nearby grocery store and then moved in chocolate - estimated 2,000 pounds - now life is good!!! And I have to eat it all up before I leave - darn!!!! ;-) AND - I found a pizza joint nearby that smelled wonderful!! Went in and found they run a nightly buffet! Bad news! Little Meredith ate and ate like a little piglet with both trotters in the trough!! Got back to the hotel - got the internet going - tried to catch up here at Renderosity - suffered from severe full belly sleep syndrome - so I took a nap!!! Im back again now trying to catch up before the e-bots eat me alive!!! (Thank goodness they dont eat chocolate!!!) Speaking of chocolate, youve got to read this!!! Talk about music to my ears!!! I think this might be the secret to my success!!! Feeding Your Brain: New Benefits Found in Chocolate from Reuters While Im on vacation and doing pilot training, Im going to need to continue doing a lot of cut and pasting with just a tiny little real comment added!! Im really sorry, but I just dont have much time right now to write my usual wacko stuff! Ill be back on March 3rd!! Yep - I've heard similar nonsense before while onhold! The worse is the continual ads trying to sell me what I've already got!! If you call the DSL technical support line you probably already HAVE DSL and don't need a sales pitch to buy it!! What morons! All they manage to do is make an already bad situation worse! Stupid people!!! I hope the old cable cars come back!!! That would be really cool!!! I love riding those in San Francisco!!! Good luck with yoru ISP!!! Love ya!!! Meredith Meredith Elaine Wilson - MeredithLand

Life without a car is impossible in the US, for the most part. Public transportation is either down to barely nothing, or sitting in junk yards, waiting for the wrecking ball or the crusher. If you are poor, you are out of luck. Not only a wonderful compilation of photos, but an awesome commentary on the times.
