Description
Ah, how I remember the Cross-Channel Car Ferry that used to take me to England. Only five quid (14 bucks) for a night trip from Belgium to London. Five or six hours on the boat, hard wooden seats, loud Danish youths all around you, not a chance of dining at the Captain's table. Hours of standing in line at the customs. But we were young, and strong and healthy, and we went through this ordeal holiday upon holiday. Going back home was a lot worse: the same thing, but loaded with books, records, clothes and souvenirs - and booze from the tax-free shop. O, for the early 1970s!
From left to right: the Houses of Parliament, the Bruges Belfry, Dover Castle and the Eiffel Tower. Dover Castle? My memory must be going!
(This picture was taken in Brussels' Mini Europe theme park.)

I love the composition and share sentiments, unfortunately we had been quite restricted because it was during our war years but se still had fun. A rich collection of images I wish I could see in person.

LOL - nice one! I remember that time well - having my first Guinness on a ferry, that I thought to be a sweet malt beer... ;) Man, was I wrong! Love it!
