Description
During a war in the orient. A wife, of a soldier that was rumored to have been cheating on her, received a letter from her husband. This letter stated that he would have his leave during their one year anniversary. She was extremely happy that fate had given them the time to spend their joyous occassion together.
She stayed up all night the night before anxiously cleaning and preparing for their special day.
The day of their anniversary, she prepared a tea ceremony for them and bought a new dress from a merchant that only dealt in the highest quality fashions. During this day, her friends and family warned her that he would not show, but she continued to prepare knowing that her husband would not dishonor her in such a way.
Half the night passed and every minute felt as days passing. Her fears of infedelity or even worse, his death, grew and her husband was no where to be seen.

Good composition. However, if it was during WW II (I am assuming that it is) and this was a Japanese setting (tatami floor and screen) the woman would not be in a chinese cheong-sam dress (Japan invaded China) ESPECIALLY for a tea ceremony. She would be required to wear a kimono, a traditional Japanese dress. And her hair would be appropriately groomed. Distorting customs of another culture is a really embarrasing crime. Go to ISO's website, download one of his beautiful Kimonos then redo this art correctly.

The front part of her dress by the slit seems to cut into her thigh a little bit. Other than that it looks great. s The story was a nice touch.

No it was not Japenese in origin nor is it WWII It's pretty much a fantasy based story with no particular historical base. While, yes, this is a mix of real life cultures. I am devising my soon to be out rpg storylines a little more with images. Which mixes and develops it's own customs. In fact, this ceremony has a Terasimian, Terasima being the name of the game, history as well. It's called "The Hurala" which is a ceremony used to describe passion, devotion, and undying love. It's a ceremony on the continent Salamos that is celebrated each year on a couple's anniversary. As the story unfolds, you will see how it is a strong storyline. That and the fact ISO doesn't have a V1 or V2 kimono doesn't help much, unless her miyabi is victoria based. Not to mention, the marketplace doesn't have a vic based kimono and bc of comcasts problems I can't even view their store to see if they had one, as that was what I was looking for and asked ppl in chat if they new of one.

What would be supreme would be more of a 3/4 angle of profile on her face to better see her expression of longing, sadness, etc, etc. Good image & storyline :)

How sad and beautiful, sort of like Puccini's "Madame Butterfly". The story is beautiful, the render is too, you got a little bit of light on the side of her face, just illuminating it slightly, makes us wonder of her emotion.

Of all of your images this is the most touching and thought-provoking. You have done an excellent job of posing, lighting and texture rendering. I love the flow of her dress and the unseen flow of her tears. Your image depicts the beautiful yet sad storyline to perfection.
