One of my favourite animals are horses. What an animal, God created in His beauty...
This is a special dedication to my dear friend, Elrika and her horse, GoGo.
In January this poor horse was struck by lighting next to my plot. We had very heavy weather on Monday and the lightning was striking 5x times a minute. He was standing near the fench when it happened, near water. The storm started 2pm and about 4pm I saw him lying on the ground. His weight was 600kg and he was lying on his left side. He could not get up and was suffering. I called my friend, Elrika. She's a vet's assistant and came as fast is she could with the vet. Tuesday we lifted him on his other side, because off damage he might have. But after all the drips, etc. GoGo lost the will to live and died at 8pm that evening.
It was'nt my horse, but I always looked how he ran along my fence, so proud and happy. I touched him and talked to him. He was a racing horse she bought, after 4 years they did not want him anymore. He was 8 years old. So young.
She said he was as healthy as an ox and then this happened. Looking in his eyes, while petting his face I could see his pain. His eyes full of emotion. Everytime I saw a tear from his eye. And then they say animals have no emotion. Really I have felt it. As if he asked me to help him. This big horse and now his lying down.
He died of internal bleeding and brain haemorrhage. I miss him too bits. GoGo, I miss you my animal friend.
Image was a photo that she has given me, that I worked from. I am also busy with an oil painting of this precious animal.
Please enjoy this lovely creature, as I did in his short, but healthy life!

So sad...A beautiful animal indeed, my favorite animals are horses too and Go Go went much too soon...hopefully he is running along God's fence now, beautiful tribute to a beautiful animal.

As a piece of art it is fairly easy to judge your skills in doing this excellent work but when it comes to the emotional I'd much rather just enjoy the emotional side and keep my mouth shut.

The art work is beautiful and a beautiful memory of gogo. It made me remember how my cat who was run over Thanksgiving Day in front of me. I love horses and it was sad that this beautiful creature was hurt and had to suffer like that. Thank you for sharing this with us.
