Description


The Rufous Sided Towhee gets the rufous name obviously from the brownish red sides. This bird is generally seen kicking around the ground, kicking up leaves and such looking for a bite to eat. This morning with light snow on the ground, they came kicking around the ground below where other birds were feeding. DOF got me a little on one of these, not as sharp on the head as desired.

but still, very nice shots. I've never seen this kind of bird before. That's what I love about this place.. I can see bugs and birds and animals from all over the world!
