Description
Just got back from a week in Wisconsin. Grandpa's funeral. Not why I would have preferred to go.
Roscoe Lee Churchill passed from this life on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007. A loving father, devoted husband and inspired educator, Roscoe retained a clear mind and strong commitment to preserving and protecting the earth until the age of 90.
He was born June 28, 1916, to George and Aminda Churchill, the 10th of 11 children. His father settled on land south of Ladysmith in 1900.
He had a keen sense of history, and involved children in learning local history, through classroom education and summer workshops and even took them for the last ride on a passenger train through Ladysmith.
He introduced youngsters to the wonders of Wisconsin woods through the Trees for Tomorrow program.
Later in life, he and his wife Evelyn, whom he married in 1937, worked tirelessly to protect Wisconsin

I'm glad you got to be in Wisconsin all week in order to honor your remarkable Grandfather. Men like Roscoe are too few and far between. It's good to have you back home. Men like Roscoe's grandson are all too few and far between, as well.
