Description

This is something I've wanted to do for a long time and when I started using Poser, I didn't realize I'd be doing it. I never learned to use a 3D modeling program but I started following Doc Geep's Poser tutorials. They were fun and I learned alot. When he started doing his house tutorial, I realized that my dream might be fulfulled. I started modeling the Smokehouse using Poser primatives and finished it. It turned out so well, that I move on to the Barn, then the Garage and Chicken coop. Finally got to the house. After doing alot if it in Poser 4, P4 started giving problems and I put it aside for about a year. I finally got around to starting it again in Poser 6. When I finished it I decided to put all the building together to create my grandfather's farm as it looked in the '40s when my mom was in her teens. After getting everything together, Poser 6 couldn't render it so I tried Poser 7. That didn't work either. Didn't know what to do. I finally opened the scene in DAZ Studio and that rendered it with no problem, so now it's complete...I think. Everytime I look at the old family photos we have, I'll see something that I missed and add it to the scene. All the windows and doors in all the buildings open and close. This has been a real challenge for the past few years and I want to give a special thanks to Doc Geep, his DGS and all the help he has given me when I needed it in trying to figure out how I was going to do something. Thanks for all your wonderful comments. The below link are to the first pages in the forums about the other building: "Smokehouse" "Barn" "Garage" "Chicken Coop" "House" "House Closeup in the Gallery" Everything here was created in Poser using primatives except: Infinity Cove - RDNA Flag from Knights Keep at DAZ Rocking chair, tractor, and road from Sams3D Car from DAZ Outhouse from Rosity free Stuff Many thanks, Cherokee

Really like this image, it fits together so nicely. What made this so much easier to render in DAZ studio?

As a rule, I do not rate pictures but I gave this one a 5. I would have given it a 10(+) except 5 is the highest rating available. IMVHO, It is picture perfect and rivals an actual photograph. You should feel very proud of your creation. Perhaps only I can appreciate the amount of effort (using DGS) that you put into this, stick by stick, but YOU know, and that is what really counts. It would be very interesting to find out why P5/P6 were not able to render it. Congratulations on a fine piece of art and capturing for the ages a small but significant piece of history from your little corner of the world. cheers, dr geep ;=]

The composition and layout are really wonderful but the ground cover seems not quite right to me. Tiled to large? Anyway it's really a fabulous image! :-)
