Description

AloooooooHa! It's Rodeo time in Hilo, HI once again. I look fwd. to shooting the rodeo each year, just for the sheer fun of shooting some action. This years rodeo was marred by heavy rains on the first day, so I missed out on that day of shooting. Sharky called me the next day when he got there and told me it was dry enough to shoot so I headed down to catch some action. I had a great time shooting with Errol, and he had a better time this year shooting with his new Nikon 200 SLR. Here is this years honorary Queen of the Rodeo, sizing up the competition in the barrel racing warm ups. She didn't win this year, but she sure looked good trying. I took over 300 images of this event, so guess what you'll be seeing for awhile. No, no, I will spare you all the images, just a few select ones in the coming days... A bosal and a bit with a chain chin strap? She musta had her hands full with that one to have so much controlling tack. I ran my mare with just a hackamore...and only needed that for the brakes. The queen is very pretty and you've caught some of her in a moment of attention to something going on, a competitor perhaps? I look forward to your rodeo visions~ =)

I thought about shoot some rodeo action too. but I never did lol. Plus a man that use to do that for a liveing tells me he sold the shots he took of the people in the rodeo. He say he had to clean the camera by takeing it apart every time too; for the dust gets to it. You catch her pose just right and the look on her face tells she a little nerve too as she size up of what going on. cool shot

We see the difference on what you two were watching now. This is a very nice portrait of girl and horse.I don't know if she posed for you, but it looks candid, and very well composed.
