Description
I debated with myself whether or not to upload this one to my gallery but I was just so thrilled to see this bird that I decided to put him there. :/
The Red Shouldered Hawk is only supposed to be near this area during breeding and I've rarely seen them! Needless to say this is the closest I've gotten and he was over my field. Coming out of my house about an hour later he was on the ground IN MY BACK YARD....dangit(!)...of course by the time I could grab my camera he was gone again.
Not a great photo but I feel like a proud papa, LOL.
Thanks everyone for looking and especially thank you to all who commented so kindly to my last photo!

I would be thrilled to make a capture like this. last fall I was walking at a city lake and I saw a very huge bird down the dam from me. I only had my Fuji with me and the telephoto was not enough to see any detail.I expect it was some type of hawk

I can see why you are proud of it! It is really beautiful! I am not quite that lucky, I don't seem to have the camera handy when I see something spectacular. Fantastic job!
