Description

The Earthmen were proud of their new 5 Billion dollar planetary lander. They thought they had the biggest, the toughest and the greatest spacecraft ever built, but today they found out they were wrong. Footnote: The alien craft may look similar to the Earth's but that's where the similarity ends. Not only can the alien craft carry 20 thousand people in luxurious comfort, but it's capable of traveling between stars at relativistic speeds without additional engines or protective shielding. So to compare the two craft would be somewhat like comparing a nuclear sub to a bath tub. Bryce 6, DazStudio, PSP 9, with a few parts modeled in XSI.

LOL Very nice idea! The only thing that imho would improve the picture would be a better sense of depth and distance. The alien craft is much bigger, as you say, but that isn't immediately noticeable in the picture. Maybe some haze or fog could give the sense of distance, or another camera angle.

Very well done, I think the environment does give a sense of scale and depth

Yes, I think 20,000 is pushing the scale a little bit. Maybe a few hundred, but even so, your work is always unique and very stylish. Excellently done.

Excellent! It's got a nice vintage pulp coverart look to it.

I really like it. It is a nice image. I would suggest, though, that the landing gear of the background ship be more massive.

The alien ship is only a mile away so it need not be too hazy, besides, I've tried it with thicker haze but it washed away too much detail so I throttled it back down. As for the scale, that ship's main hull is 1000 feet in diameter, and has 15 residential floors containing 11 million square feet which comes to about 550 square feet per person(alien). This doesn't even include vast parks, greenhouses and life support systems located behind the protective upper hull.

Sweet render, I like the style of ships. The earthlings add a nice perspective on the scale of things. Nice work!!
