Description

I ran out of bird shots at my home...for the moment. This is a redo and repost of a Mockingbird taken behind my work place some time back. The camera was my brand new Nikon D70 with a Sigma zoom lens. The bird is distracting me from the nest while perched on a light fixture in a city parking area. These birds are very funny to watch. They will chase others away during nesting season and even "dive bomb" cats, other animals and people if too close to the nest. The sing and sing, repeating rarely..mocking bird is appropriate. The pick up songs and duplicate. My coworker heard his screen door opening and it did not move..the sound was a mocking bird. They mostly eat insects from the ground and a once in awhile catch in the air.

real cool. I saw them dive bomb a cat of mine. But he learn to roll on his back and caught them. so they stop drive bombing him. I was a child then

Getting a mockingbird is a feat! I find them so skiddish. But they have one of my favorite voices and I love listening to them. Nice photo.
