Oh my! The passion in this writing is so evident. One wonders if you know first hand the pain that others can inflict. It is beautifully written and stated...bravo!! I have not heard from you in a long time and when I do you fill me with emotion.

Well, I can see a lot of effort and thought went into this Michelle. I'm lucky not to have come from an abusive family but I grew up knowing a few abused kids. They all ended up in prison or with broken families. I must say that modern times at least have brought much of this out of the closet. Remember those perfect TV families of the fifties? Compare them now to the semi-dysfunctional TV families of today and one can see a real difference. Many taboos have been blown open and kids today can see that the world is not a perfect place. Many times, real solutions are presented. But there are still those that worship the three monkeys and would like to live in a fairytale. The problems stem from those vocal few forcing their repression on society as a whole. When problems are hidden, they don't go away, they just fester. So many people are so irrational that at times I have little hope for humanity. Thankfully, there are a few beacons of hope, like yourself, that casts light into the shadows and pushes back the forces of darkness. The world needs more people like you Michelle. Anyway, this hits a nerve (Duh) as it should and it might wake up a few people. Bravo young lady. Hugs from Dave :^)

Bring it into the light! You can't do anything to make God love you, You can't do anything to make God love you less, God can't do anything but love you, that just who God is!

WOW! Each a magnificent work of poetry in itself! Powerful, and send chills down my back - Oh the Horor! Thank you for your courage to bring it to light! Some say a picture says a thousand words, maybe so some times, but I also believe that a few words can express everything if one only feels it! BRAVO!

Very nice poem, bringing out the truth of happenings going on in the homes and everywhere today. You said it just right and with full truth behind it all. I've known some poor buggers in my day, and at a young age, unable to help. Thankyou for the eye opener, Michelle. Huggs...Silkylady...

Very powerful poem and it makes me angry. I think you did a fantastic piece. I'm so glad you commented on my image. I wondered if you were still here. I had not recieved an ebot and I hadn't been at rendo for a while. I think your piece should be printed in a paper or someplace where it has exposure. And it's good of you to shed light on this subject for it seems to be taboo. I'm not sure why voices are shut out jsut because people don't want to hear or see. Just like war they want war but want to hide the truth of the deaths. No pictures. NO graffics. Anyway, I'm off to bed, I'm probably not making much sense but I give you a standing ovation for this. It is one of the best and moving pieces I"ve read and think this should be published along with some stories for people to see. Thank you. HUGS Maria

I dont think I needed more than the "pictures in an exhibition" presentation in your poem to get the full impact of your passion. Not that your expansion in plain prose was unnecessary - far from it - I am sure it will reach people who might miss the point in your metaphor ... and with something this important and this well-expressed, that would be a shame. You are quite right: closing doors and windows on the problem simply makes the abusers more secure. Out of sight, sadly, all too often means out of mind. There are too many brass monkeys out there. Well said. Mike
