Description
This piece originally began as a portrait of the fictional character Amy March, from one of my favorite stories, "Little Women." For those familiar with the story, Amy was the artist in the March family. But it soon took on a life of its own, and the pastels brought to mind another artist for me, so in the end it's inspired as much by Monet as Miss March.
