Description

I made this because someone wanted to know if you could do it or not and I had to show that Vue 6 could in fact do this sort of cool effect :) Silly image, I know, but was fun proving it could be done :) Enjoy! ................md :)

Let me into the secret, I tried that and my eco system just went on the top half, I cheated and duplicated th sphere and rotated it! [LOL]. Nice job!!

Thanx, and yeah, it's silly, for what it is I mean LOL but what it represents isn't silly at all :) Somebody had asked if this could be done and it was said that you could only apply plants (eco's) from the top view so it "must" not be possible, type of deal. Me, loving a challenge, thought, yes it can, if they really can stick, which they do. Basically, the trick was, since I thought to myself, Hmmmm, if you can make eco's stick to terrains/objects now in V6 and have the abillity ALSO then move that object around all while keeping the ecos stuck to the object, then why not just rotate that object around every 45 degrees or whatever and still painting from the top view, you actually get to paint all around an object on ANY side that you want! I did that in less then five minutes and most of that time was just rotating the thing to find spots I missed LOL Now, think of the ramifications of this!? Now, you could paint under ledges that arer at odd angles or paint vines that things that dangle down under an object by painting them right on the bottom and then rotating the object back around! There are trillions of variations of things you could do with this. I've already thought of lots, including painting my own tree monsters and such with a human figure. I haven't tried this on an animated Poser figure yet, BUT if it works, well, you can see the fun you would have :) Does that help? Or should I make a little sample tutorial for everyone? And thanx........md :)

One thing to know, you HAVE TO Paint from the Material Editor, otherwize it won't let the Ecos Stick to the object. Was that your problem? Try it the other way, and no, you don't have to close the Paint Panel to rotate the object. In the window right bellow the Top View window, just rotate the object till it looks about right and finish painting in the top view. From the top view, you can rotate things on it's heading and then back to the bottom view you can finish rotating around again to get the other sides and finish painting and repete the process. My email is md! md-arts.com or you can find me on my MSN IM right now, i'll be available for a little bit, just do a search for that email address and mention in a subject title that reflects this topic and i'll allow and all that :) I still want to get the tutorial whipped up for you but I have some other projects I am also working, on, but i will still try and get that out if I can, otherwise it'll be later in the day. but for now, just contact me with any problems

Heh, heh, it's cool Steve, I know how it is LOL :) And thanx too. I plan on making some "decent" samples of this to show off though, but this was just to prove it could be done, which it does :) BTW, remember my old Desert Trail Scene, it's in the new Promo at e-on's site and my name is in the credits, how cool is that, huh? :) Someone just told me about it today and sure enough, there it is! http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_6_xstream/ It's in the Vue 6 Quick Tour. ..........md :)

Hello md, I deleted my previous comment on my difficultie of doing this task. Seems I needed Vue Infinite and not Vue 6 Pro Studio ver. If this is not your version and you use Vue 6 pro studio then I'm still stumped. Thanks for your insights.

Yeah, I am using Vue 6 xStream and that was done working in stand alone mode, i.e. didn't start it from LW. And glad to help and show a fun little trick to others. I'm sure you can already be thinking of some really neat effects that you could do with this trick? :) I know I have been, heh, heh. And of course, i would love to see what anybody does with this technique, so be sure to post up whatever you all come up with, I want to see as I'm sure does everyone else too! ...........md :)
