Description

I wanted to do a space ship exploding, but wasn't sure how to do it in Carrara. So I set out to actually do it in Photoshop. In the end however, I used a Carrara cloud and a few lights. The debri is an exploded cube. Wings for the ship. Universal Image Creator and Photoshop for the stars and planet which was rendered in Carrara as a backdrop. As always, there's a lot more detail here and I hid it. Namely the explosion. I actually modelled decks and bulk heads. Maybe I'll render a shot of it when the fires have died out. Thanks for looking

Great pic! but the debris looks very much alike. too many little squares. I would expect pipes, beams, and oddly shaped bits of junk. I still really like the pic though, your stuff is always cool to see.

Odessey, only the star field was created in universal image creator, the planet was just created in photoshop alone.

Looks like a fun project. If there were only a cheap fluids and chemistry modeler, the licks of flame could be really cool in an animation. Why don't you write one? It's only the Navier-Stokes solution, and then the chemistry and the thermo. But it would kick butt. As does this one!

Overall, a very impressive image with very dramatic backlighting and effective positioning. I tend to agree with Ozylot that the debris field's a bit too repetitive. Aside from that, though, great work!
