Description

"I hate this wretched willow soul of mine, patiently enduring, plaited or twisted by other hands." ~ Karin Boye

Another IR photo of a stairway leading up into the forest. A bit of a jumble, but I rather like the interplay of light and form. It inspired BJ (mamabobbijo) to write this lovely prose, so I am putting it here: "The sun shone brightly down that day, and pretended to chase the shadows away. They played a rowdy game of seek and find, the breeze joined in and chased not far behind. Through the stately willow wood, then up and down the stair they chased each other, breathlessly, and mussed up my hair. I laughed aloud as the play progressed, amazed by such a sight, this wonderful dance as the shadows, played tag with the breeze and the light. Later as I lay safely dreaming at home in my bed, the blissful dance, played again and again, scampering through my head. I drifted off to the woodlands, turning into shadow and light, and joined them myself in that wondrous dance, much to my delight!" -----

Every bit as impressive as the previous ones. The tree branch just above the top of the stairs that twists and curls like a billowing ribbon really draws the eye onward and upward!

Incredible atmosphere you have captured in this photograph! Your composition is superb and the image looks eerie yet very inviting. It's that idea of the unknown, of what lies beneath and beyond that staircase that does it for me... The shades and the tones are excellent, and the little bit of stairway we find here brings out a mystic feel to the image---- great mood and atmosphere at play in this photorgraph! It seems as though the light is trying very hard to maneuver its way into the darkness.... And the title, is most perfectly suited for the image! Magnificent capture!

OMG, what other surprises does the Amazon basin hold? Odd spot for stairs I would think. Anyway, another masterful capture in a long line of masterful captures. Beautiful contrast among the foliage. But, in all candor, I wouldn't have considered this an IR photo unless you had indicated so.
