Description
This was, for me, the thrill of a lifetime.
I've seen eagles before, but never nesting in the wild like this.
I got to sit for about three hours and watch this eagle's nest.
It is being nested by three, not two, but three adult eagles!
I saw two fly into the nest at the same time, with one eagle sitting
in the nest. I have no idea who the number three eagle might be.
They each took turns nesting on the eggs and one was always on
guard, sometimes on a branch or sitting in a tree across the pasture.
Once there were two eagles sitting in the nest at the same time.
When it's time for the 'changing of the guard', the eagle makes the most
astonishing chirping sounds, throwing his head straight back with his beak
pointed straight up into the air. I wish I could have recorded and posted
the sound for you to hear! His replacement would come immediately.
I'll have a few more images to show in the future. Thanks very kindly for
stopping to look, and I really appreciate your kind comments! ... Maria

astonishing capture Maria. in Utah I was able to see two eagles perched in a farm house tree. I shot them with the Fuji but did not do them justice.I was afraid to get out to get my Canon and telephoto, or they would leave

Really exciting shot. I have seen one or two nesting eagles but alway they are so far off in a secluded spot that I can only see them with binoculars. No way to get a photo of one like that! Very cool!
