Description

This is a piece of equipment from Crawford Tillinghast's attic laboratory. Since he disappeared there's no way of knowing exactly what it is or does. Suffice to say I wouldn't want to be in the room with it while it was activated. Not yet, anyway. However, I have procured the house itself and am currently in the process of gathering all that was scattered after his disappearance. It is only a matter of locating the pieces and collecting them as most of the would be thieves have died mysterious and rather grisly deaths. Once it has all been recovered and is back in the attic I shall consult one of Crawford's colleagues, Dr. Albert N. Wilmarth of Miskatonic University in Arkham, Mass. Perhaps he has some ideas about what Tillinghast was researching and how these pieces fit together. When we last spoke, Crawford told me he was on the verge of penetrating some sort of barrier, something to do with the very fabric of time and space. That was the last I heard from him. I shall endeavor to keep you informed of my progress. sincerely, Howard Phillips Feb. 30, 1927 [This took about an hour to render in Cinema 4D. I have found it easy and fun to use and a powerful tool indeed! I believe H.P. Lovecraft would approve. This was inspired by his story 'From Beyond'.] Thanks for Looking! Ken ps: you can hear the song I wrote for this here: http://media.putfile.com/Crawford-Tillinghast

What I love most about this piece (aside from the quotation which reads like a wonderfully spooky horror-mystery) is that it looks as though it could be a photo-realistic painting on canvas or paper... looks like art, not like a rendering. Lovely use of color!

Very cool looking aparatus, I love the glow of the filaments inside the tubes. It does look early 1900's equipment, can't wait to hear more. Great reporting!!

I like those filaments, looks cool. I would loose the frame though. Violet and brown don't go to well together.

Kool retro valves and tubes...maybe this was the first guitar amp and he sonically blasted himself into another dimension...the fourth dimension ? I think you have C4D under control...now back LW9 !!! a gold frame would really high-light your render, nice work Ken ! ~Cheers~

Great image, and goes very well with the HPL-like quote. Perhaps we will see the results?
