Nutrias are common in the Gulf Coast area where I grew up. Especially in the deltas around Louisiana. They are hunted for their thick pelts and also for food by some locals. They have particularly interesting tails - not flat and not round but a bit of both and their feet are webbed. This is an excellent shot! We, however, know them as giant rats or of the rat family. Guess I learned something new then...
