Description

Ummmm.... I am at this point in time rather shell shocked! I am in a local camera club with Lou Wolfers (LouLouBell) and we entered some pics into the monthly competition for the second time. I didn't expect too much being new against proffessional photographers, some who have won national and (I think) international competitions, especially after having an ordinary run with the first one.....well spin me around and leave me breathless I got: 4th (open section EDI) and highly commended for 'Here's Lookin at ya' 2nd (Set Subject-Food) for 'Strawberry Butterfly (Lou got first...I'll blab on her) and then when I thought it couldn't get any more embarrassing.... 1st (open section EDI)for 'Just a little Daisy' Gulp! Now that I have stopped choking, I owe a big thanks to Lou who actually broke her toe when helping me set up for 'strawberry butterfly'. She continued on like a real trooper and got a very deserved first place in that section. I also would like to thank Chimeric Imager as he suggested Strawberries for something else I was contemplating and that led me to remember the Strawberry garnish in an asian cookbook! I will post these later as single pics but thought you would like to see them together. Comments, giggles and rolling of the eyes all welcome...exept for Oom Piet's "I told you so's!" Thanks all for your imput to lead to this Jenny.

hehe - nice one, i like the inventiveness displayed in the strawberry one, although i confess i saw it as two evil eyes..."thats not a butterfly it is a bat" says he in the blot test ;) Congrats!

Awwww Shucks!furiously blushing Thanks for all the kind words and support. Isshala, I felt the same in some respects, it does look a bit sinister from some angles, a bit like my 'marvin the martian' model from Wings3d in the link below... http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1344147. These 'awards' are a tribute to this community. i would not be posting such news without all the advise, help, fun, stirring, competitions, tutorials and friendships so all take a bow (no pics from behind please) Thanks all, oh and a new Canon 400D twin lens kit is within viewing distance!!! jenny
